Minmetals Resources Limited (MMR) is a mid-tier global resources company that mines, explores and develops base metal projects in Australia, and around the world. The company is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under Stock Code: 1208. MMR owns the MMG group of companies and their operations after acquiring them on 31 December 2010.
MMR is uniquely positioned with an experienced international management team, public ownership on the Hong Kong stock exchange and support of our ultimate controlling shareholder China Minmetals Corporation (CMC).
CMC is one of China’s major multinational state-owned enterprises and is a diversified company with businesses in metals trading, ferrous and non-ferrous metals production, finance, real estate and logistics.
MMR currently operates a portfolio of mines in Australia and Laos. Our development pipeline includes several major undeveloped zinc-copper deposits and we have significant exploration projects and partnerships in Australia, Asia, Africa and North America.
Our group is one of the world's largest producers of zinc as well as a substantial producer of copper, lead, gold and silver.
Our operating mines include:
- Century in Queensland, Australia, which is Australia's largest open pit zinc mine, producing some 500,000 tonnes of zinc annually.
- Golden Grove in Western Australia, which is an underground base and precious metals mine producing some 80,000 tonnes of zinc, and 20,000 tonnes copper annually, along with a high precious metal lead concentrate.
- LXML Sepon in Laos, which is a copper and gold operation producing 80,000 tonnes of copper cathode and 80,000 ounces of gold annually.
- Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia, which is a polymetallic underground mine that has continuously operated since 1936. Approximately 80,000 tonnes of zinc and 25,000 tonnes of lead is produced annually at Rosebery.
Our major development projects include the Dugald River undeveloped zinc-lead-silver deposit located in north-western Queensland, Australia, and a suite of base metals in the Nunuvut Territories in north-west Canada.
Exploration is a core growth driver for MMR, and includes mine district exploration around our existing operations, new discovery programs in Australia, Asia, Africa and North America and project generation, where dedicated commodity teams are working to expand MMR’s project portfolio.
